Increasingly, veterinarians are becoming involved with natural health care methods, including traditional Chinese medicine.  Many of these practitioners are members of one or more of the organizations supporting this approach, such as International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture.  There are also veterinarians who focus on herbal medicine, for which Chinese herbal medicine may be a part of their practice; this work is supported by organizations such as the Veterinary Botanical Medicine Association.  To get onto our veterinarian list, practitioners must fill out and submit a questionnaire we have prepared to become an ITM member, and their information is reviewed to assure they have knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine. A record of their training and granted degrees as well as their medical specialties is retained at ITM. These veterinarians do not pay for their listing in this guide; this is not an advertisement for their practices, rather it is a service provided by ITM for people seeking alternative health care for their animals.
